Neuro Recall Side Effects and Interactions, Ingredient by Ingredient
Most reactions to Neuro Recall's ingredients are mild: upset stomach, nausea, loose stools, headache or dizziness. The bigger risks are interactions. Ginkgo can add to blood thinners, chromium and berberine can push blood sugar down with diabetes medicines, berberine raises cyclosporine and tacrolimus levels, and green tea extract has rare liver reports. The label says do not use if pregnant or nursing.

The short version
What side effects can Neuro Recall cause?
The Neuro Recall label lists no side effects, but each of its 14 ingredients has its own record. Stomach complaints lead the list: nausea and cramps with bacopa (ADDF, Bacopa), loose stools with magnesium oxide (NIH ODS, Magnesium), and upset stomach with berberine (MSKCC, Berberine).
No study of the finished formula has been published, so nobody knows how often these happen with Neuro Recall itself. The bigger concerns are drug interactions and rare liver injury from green tea extract.

All 14 ingredients
Neuro Recall side effects, ingredient by ingredient
Four amounts are printed. The other ten share one 635 mg blend, so their doses are unknown.

Medicines
Can Neuro Recall interact with my medications?
Yes. Several ingredients interact with common prescriptions, and the label names none of them. Show this table to your pharmacist.
| If you take... | Ingredient | What may happen | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blood thinners such as warfarin | Ginkgo | Higher bleeding risk | (NCCIH, Ginkgo) |
| Insulin, metformin or other diabetes medicines | Chromium, lipoic acid, berberine | Blood sugar may fall too low | (NIH ODS, Chromium) (Linus Pauling Institute, Lipoic acid) (MSKCC, Berberine) |
| Thyroid medicine (levothyroxine) | Chromium, bacopa | Less medicine absorbed; thyroid levels may shift | (NIH ODS, Chromium) (ADDF, Bacopa) |
| Cyclosporine or tacrolimus | Berberine | Drug levels can rise | (MSKCC, Berberine) |
| Drugs cleared by CYP2D6, 2C9 or 3A4 | Berberine | Can change how the body processes these drugs; a pharmacist can check yours | (MSKCC, Berberine) |
| Nadolol, atorvastatin or raloxifene | Green tea extract | Lower nadolol levels; other interactions reported | (NCCIH, Green tea) |
| Sedatives and sleep medicines | L-theanine | More drowsiness | (MSKCC, L-theanine) |
| Cholinergic dementia drugs | Bacopa | Effects may stack | (ADDF, Bacopa) |
| Methotrexate or seizure medicines | Folic acid | Can interfere with them | (NIH ODS, Folate) |
| Some antibiotics, bisphosphonates | Magnesium | Blocks absorption; take hours apart | (NIH ODS, Magnesium) |
| Metformin or acid reducers such as omeprazole | Vitamin B12 | These drugs lower B12; ask for a blood test | (NIH ODS, Vitamin B12) |
If a row applies to you, call your doctor or pharmacist before the first capsule. Never stop or change a dose on your own. More in memory supplements and blood thinners.
Liver
Can the green tea extract in Neuro Recall affect your liver?
It can, though rarely. Liver injury has been reported with green tea extract, mostly from concentrated tablets and capsules rather than brewed tea (NCCIH, Green tea). Neuro Recall's extract is at least 50% EGCG, and its amount is hidden in the blend. Cassia cinnamon adds coumarin, a liver concern for sensitive people (NCCIH, Cinnamon), and the label does not name the cinnamon type.
- Yellow skin or yellowing in the whites of the eyes
- Dark urine or pale stools
- Pain in the upper right side of the belly
- Unusual tiredness, nausea or loss of appetite
With liver disease, ask your doctor first.
Check first
Who should avoid Neuro Recall or ask a doctor first?
Anyone pregnant, nursing or under 18, and anyone on the medicines above without a doctor's OK.
Why pregnancy is a firm no: ginkgo (NCCIH, Ginkgo), berberine (newborn jaundice risk) (MSKCC, Berberine) and L-theanine (MSKCC, L-theanine) all carry pregnancy cautions.

When should you stop taking Neuro Recall?
Stop the capsules and get help if any of these happen. Bring the bottle along.
Unusual bleeding or bruising
Nosebleeds that will not stop, bleeding gums or unexplained bruises. Call your doctor.
Signs of low blood sugar
Shaking, sweating, a racing heart or muddled thinking on diabetes medicines. Treat it as your care team taught you, then call them.
Rash, hives or swelling
A spreading rash means stop and call. Swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, or trouble breathing, means call 911.
Stomach trouble that will not settle
Nausea, cramps or diarrhea lasting more than a few days.
Emergency
Is sudden memory trouble a side effect? Treat it as a 911 call
Sudden memory trouble is an emergency, not a side effect to wait out. Call 911 for sudden confusion, trouble speaking, a drooping face, weakness on one side, trouble seeing or walking, or a severe headache with no known cause (CDC, Stroke signs).

FAQ
Neuro Recall side effects FAQ
Can Neuro Recall raise blood pressure?
It might, a little. Raised blood pressure is reported with green tea extract, which also contains caffeine (NCCIH, Green tea), and the label does not print how much is in the blend. If you treat high blood pressure, check your readings in the first weeks.
Can I take Neuro Recall with metformin?
Ask your doctor first. Chromium, berberine and alpha-lipoic acid may add to the blood sugar lowering of diabetes medicines (NIH ODS, Chromium) (Linus Pauling Institute, Lipoic acid). Metformin can also lower B12 over time (NIH ODS, Vitamin B12), so ask about a blood test.
Can I take Neuro Recall with levothyroxine?
Only with your doctor's OK. Chromium may reduce how much levothyroxine you absorb (NIH ODS, Chromium), and bacopa may affect thyroid levels (ADDF, Bacopa). If your doctor agrees, a pharmacist can tell you how far apart to take them.
Is Neuro Recall safe for older adults on several medicines?
It depends on the medicines. Older adults often take blood thinners, diabetes pills or thyroid medicine, the very drugs that interact with this blend. Bring every bottle, including Neuro Recall, to your pharmacist for a full check.
Can Neuro Recall cause headaches?
It might. Headache is reported with ginkgo (NCCIH, Ginkgo) and alpha-GPC (ADDF, Alpha-GPC), and both are in the blend. A sudden, severe headache with confusion or one-sided weakness is different: that can be a stroke, so call 911.
Can I take Neuro Recall with other supplements?
Check for doubles first. Neuro Recall already gives 320 mcg folic acid and 250 mg magnesium. A multivitamin on top can push folic acid toward its 1,000 mcg upper limit (NIH ODS, Folate) or supplement magnesium past 350 mg a day (NIH ODS, Magnesium).
